US Open Tennis; the United States Open Tennis Championships is a hard court tennis tournament. The tournament is the modern version of one of the oldest tennis championships in the world, the U.S. National Championship, for which men's singles was first played in 1881.

Since 1987, the US Open has been chronologically the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the year. The other three, in chronological order, are the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon. The US Open starts on the last Monday of August and continues for two weeks, with the middle weekend coinciding with the U.S. Labor Day holiday. This year will take a place in August 27 � September 9, 2018.

Since 1978, the tournament has been played on acrylic hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows�Corona Park, Queens, New York City.

If you leave in Manhattan there are several ways to go there; easiest and cheapest way is of course Subway. Take �7� and get off �Mets � Willets Point� stop. This ride will take around 30min. Between subway station to USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is only 7min walking distance. If you want to go with your own car, again you park right by the subway station and it will cost you $25 for a day.

This once a year sport event is excellent for all tennis lovers. Personally, I go there one week before for watch the qualifications. That is free admission, you can watch and go everywhere. Some low rank players trey to qualify to continue the play and high rank players training for getting ready for coming brutal games.
